Message from the Directors of Renaissance UK
As we draw closer to the Christmas period and the end of 2024, we take this opportunity to look back on our achievements in the last 12 months as a charity. Through tough times for everyone, Renaissance UK has been able to stay strong, thanks to our fantastic team of staff and volunteers. We continue to support some of the most vulnerable in society, across all of our projects and never more have we been so proud of the work that our teams deliver, through this testing time.
Our work with the HORIZON service in Blackpool has seen excellent outcomes this year. Working closely with our partners at Delphi Medical, to deliver a high-quality service in the town. We are exceptionally proud of the launch of our recreational drug pathway, supporting those that sometimes feel excluded from traditional drug and alcohol services.
Our Blackpool counselling service has seen a measured growth this year, as mental health continues to impact our communities. We are pleased that we can now offer, not only person-centred and CBT counselling, but also Psychosexual Therapy, for those that access our service.
Our HIV and Sexual Health Outreach services in Blackpool, Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, relaunched this year under the new project banner “Revolution at Renaissance UK”. We see this as a strong and powerful move to bring all these services together and deliver a much more cohesive service to those that need it most, in all areas of our work.
As we look forward to 2025, and our 39th year of operations, we recognise the challenges ahead and believe we are ready for them.
We recognise that Christmas can be a difficult time for some and therefore, our Blackpool drug and alcohol outreach team, will be offering support over the festive period and we have included a list of local and national support services, that are available to access every day of the holidays.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our service users and our funders, for their continued support throughout 2024 and we look forward to working closely with you all into the new year. For those that are celebrating, have a wonderful Christmas and we hope for a peaceful new year for you all.
